Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash Extensions

Classic lash extensions refer to the process in which one false lash is grafted to each natural eyelash. They’ll make your lashes look longer, thicker, and curlier. They suit people who already have a good amount of lashes – if not, they could end up looking quite sparse.
Volume is your best choice. With volume lashes, a fan of lashes is attached to each natural lash. Each fan is made up of a few very fine lashes of various lengths to mimic the way natural lashes grow. They can provide a fuller look, especially for people with sparse eyelashes. Depending on how dramatic you want to look, each fan can have from two to ten lashes.

Eyelash Lifting & Tinting

This innovative, non-damaging treatment lifts and curls the natural lashes whilst infusing them with keratin and biotin for strength. The lift normally lasts 6-8 weeks, sometimes up to 10 – this depends on your skin type. As your lash cycle progresses, the lift grows out/drops gradually over a couple of months.
Lady Lash’s lash lift is the perfect low maintenance pick-me-up – infills are not required, as only your natural lashes are used. It’s best paired with a tint for extra darkness, as your lashes will appear even longer!

Eyelash Appearance

The Natural Eye Look

The goal of this look is to keep the lashes looking natural. You’ll seem like one of the lucky few to be blessed with long, full lashes.

The natural eye follows the same contours of your natural eyelashes. Fairly consistent length across the eyelid, with a little less on the inner and outer edges. To mimic lashes in all stages of the natural growth cycle, extensions of mixed lengths are applied right along the eye.

The Open Eye Look

This style accentuates the centre of the eye by adding volume and length in the middle of the eyelid, tapering down at each end to create symmetrical graduation.

Traditionally this style would use lashes around 8mm for the corners, going up to between 12 and 14mm for the centre of the eyelid.

The Cat Eye Look

The Dolly Eye Look

The Dolly Eye Look

You might be familiar with this style from eye makeup tutorials where eyeliner is used to create a swish on the outer corner of the eye… The same can be done with eyelash extensions but in a more dramatic and feminine way.

The lashes begin at the inner corner at their shortest length and gradually taper up – reaching their maximum length at the outer corner. The difference in length is around 50% more by the time we reach the outer corner. So a starting lash of 9mm on the inner corner would result in an outer corner lash of 14mm.

There is also typically a small decrease in length and right at the very end to taper in a little, usually if the maximum length is 14mm, the very corner might taper down to 13mm.

A slight variation of the Cat Eye is the ‘Kitten Eye’ which is the exact same idea, but the disparity between shortest and longest lash is closer to 25% – so an inner corner lash of 9mm would result in an outer corner lash of closer to 11-12mm.

The Dolly Eye Look

The Dolly Eye Look

The Dolly Eye Look

A cross between the natural and open eye styles, the Doll Eye is characterised by length right across the eye line with the longest lashes on the middle of the eye.

This look will make our eyes appear bigger and fuller – but not to such an extent as the Open Eye style will.

Eyelash Extension Care

How to clean Eyelash extensions

  1. Remove all eye-makeup using an oil and glycol-free makeup remover. If taking off eyeliner, use a cotton tip dipped in remover and wipe it across your lid, or away from the lid. Never towards the extensions. Don’t use cotton balls as you’ll get into a furry mess, as they will catch on the bases of the extensions.
  2. If you are wearing heavy foundation, remove this too before washing eyes, using your cleanser of choice but AVOIDING the eye area. Some cleansers contain oil, particularly cream cleansers and ‘cleansing oils’
  3. Wet your eyes with cool water. Take a very, very small amount of a lash shampoo and lather it up on your palm. Apply this to both eyes, one at a time, splashing it over them. Don’t rub them like you’re washing hair though; just gently splash it over your closed eyes. If your eyes still feel grubby, repeat.
  4. Rinse it off and dab them gently dry. It doesn’t matter if they are a little damp, stuck together with water etc., when you brush them they will re-separate.
  5. Use your lash wand to very gently twirl through them and fan them back out.
  6. Do this 2-3 times per week.

lash extensions care in Summer

Trying to keep the lashes dry for 24 hours, and this includes away from extreme heat/sweat and steam. This is mainly so that you keep things like shampoo, oily face creams etc. No oil  products,  Micellar water, as many micellar waters actually contain oily ingredients. PLEASE DON’T USE MICELLAR WATER!  Use an oil-free makeup remover.

Sunscreen – it’s very important to use it, of course, but make sure it’s an oil-free one. Spray on isn’t a great idea either as it will get all in between your lashes, if you spray your face. Many brands made specific sunscreen for face.
